Often mistaken for rodents, the world’s tiniest dog, the Teacup Chihuahua is an adorable pet. For all those who are thinking of buying a pet for the first time, this one’s tailor made for you. Tiny with a height of nine inches and a weight of five pounds, there are no prizes for guessing that these cute little dogs are easy to maintain.
They can be trained easily and are ideal as pets for the apartment. Chihuahuas come in two types. There is one with a short coat ideal for warm weather conditions and there is one with a long coat suited to cold places. Teacup Chihuahuas require with short coat require very little grooming. With ears cocked and the tail curled proudly, they make adorable companions. Always active and alert, teacup Chihuahuas are good watchdogs.

On the flipside however, their excessive barking may get exasperating at times. Since teacup Chihuahuas are tiny, they can be physically overwhelmed without much effort. When this happens, they may snap or make a beeline for your toes to give a sharp bite. Being gentle with them and yet strict when its needed, keeps these tiny pets in good humor.
Some common health problems that Teacup Chihuahuas suffer from are bladder stones, heart and tracheal diseases due to which they cough a lot and arthritis.
