Teacup poodles
A teacup Chihuahua by itself is such an adorable creature. What if it is crossed with a poodle? Won’t the resulting pups be simply amazing? This is what a Teacup Poodle is. A Teacup poodle is actually a hybrid of a teacup Chihuahua and a poodle. It is also nicknamed Chipoo.
Like the Chihuahua and the poodle, the Teacup poodle too is a small dog though slightly bigger when compared to the purebred Chihuahua. Crossing these two breeds, imbibes the genetic traits of both the breeds. While it has the gentle demeanor of the Chihuahua, it has the stubbornness of the poodle. This makes it a challenge to train a teacup poodle. Maintenance wise, they require the same effort as it would take to maintain a poodle or a Chihuahua.
It must be understood that a hybrid is just a genetically modified dog and does not need any special care or attention. Teacup poodles need constant grooming and baths, thanks to their long furry body. Ticks and fleas may attack them if they are not kept clean. Hence it is advisable to use medicated dog shampoos and conditioners to keep their fur chining bright and clean.
Regular visits to the vet will ensure that your teacup poodle is free from illnesses. Avoid exposure to extreme cold weather conditions as well as the sun for both can be detrimental to the health of your teacup poodle. Teacup poodles are bundles of joy that get the best traits from its parent breeds, the Chihuahua and the poodle.
